Winter is described as “the most beautiful time of the year” so why not plan your perfect winter wedding here at Manor Hill House?
Yes, we really adore Summer weddings but we know they are not for everyone! The hot weather and sweltering heat can make brides uncomfortable in their layered dresses and even the best make-up brands are not hay fever-proof. With Winter wonderland Christmas weddings, you can avoid all this whilst getting incredible photographs, feeling festive with the fire and enjoying the holiday-themed decorations and more.
The twinkling lights, roaring fires, down to the frosty air mornings and the hearty food all make a winter wedding. Let the celebrations begin with a glass of mulled wine, egg nog or other warming festive drinks.
Here are our top 6 reasons to have a winter wedding here with us at Manor Hill House:
1. Wide selection of Venue Dates at Better Rates
Wintertime is a relatively less busy time of the year to get married, with many couples picturing the ideal summer wedding with late light evenings and warm sunshine. As a result, the summer months book up faster and come with a higher exclusivity fee. If you are looking to save money, most venues offer their venues at a discounted rate including Manor Hill House from November to February. You’ll have more flexibility to come in and set up early too!
2. Bonus (and Free) Decorations
Although the time of year might not be the reason you choose a winter wedding, there are many benefits to a celebration aligned with the Christmas holiday period. For example, we decorate the venue with a real Christmas tree with silver baubles and there are twinkly lights put up all around the barn, pavilion and balcony – all of this at no additional cost!
Of course, you can bring in more decorations and even your own baubles if ours do not match your theme, we want the venue to feel like yours for your day.
3. Cheaper Travel and Accommodations
Unfortunately, travel and hotel stays are at peak pricing in the summer. Guests can take advantage of off-season pricing for their travel and accommodation options if you choose a wedding date in the winter months.
4. Prepared guests
The unpredictable Great British weather can’t always guarantee a gorgeous sunny day – even in August! Guests will often arrive unprepared for showers in the summer months, making it a little hectic on the wedding day if the weather was to turn.
At least with a winter wedding, your guests will arrive wrapped up with umbrellas fully equipped for the cooler climate.
5. Feeling festive and unique
From festive colour palettes to flowers and décor, there are elements of the season to inspire your theme that will stand out in a sea of peonies. Embrace the season by opting for a hot mulled wine or signature cocktail. You can ditch the traditional canapés and replace them with tasty gingerbread men or mince pies.
6. The weather
“Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!”
Imagine a white-iced wonderland curling and circling across the church or over the rolling countryside and your reception. Even if it doesn’t snow, conjure up the image of a crisp, golden, frosty morning, with the grass crunching underfoot. Imagine the smell of pine combined with the sound of the crackling firepit. The outdoor firepit is perfect for toasting marshmallows and roasting chestnuts over the open fire – how atmospheric!
Here at Manor Hill House, we love Christmas and it is one of our favourite times of the year! We have more available dates, and the venue looks stunning all lit up with the twinkly lights. There is plenty of room inside as well as outside, with our marquee being fully insulated with a great heating system so your guests will be nice and cosy, that alongside our under-floor heating – no one will have cold feet on your wedding day!
For some people, battling the heat is just too exhausting and can leave them feeling irritated! If you’re stressed about being hot and sweaty for your wedding photos, then a winter wedding is perfect for you.
