Yes. The hire charge for Manor Hill House gives ‘exclusive use’ of the property from 12 noon to 12 midnight. Access to the property outside of these hours is by prior arrangement as confirmed in the timetable prepared by Manor Hill House. All visits to Manor Hill House are by appointment only.

Manor Hill House is licenced for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies with various different spaces for you to choose from. Please note ceremonies can only take place at 2pm or later except by prior agreement.

The maximum number of day guests is 140 when the whole venue is in use and the sit-down meal is in the marquee. Evening guest numbers can increase to a maximum capacity of 180.

Where the marquee is not used, a total number of 50 guests can be seated in the Drawing Room for a sit-down meal and evening guest numbers can increase to a maximum of 80.

Guest lists will be required 14 days prior to the event if your guest numbers are 100 or above to ensure only those invited attend. N.B Maximum guest numbers include children.

The four-luxury double en-suite bedrooms are available to be hired by the couple and for them to offer to their guests of choice for the wedding night. This includes our magnificent Honeymoon en-suite with deluxe spa bathroom.

A lot of additional accommodation is available locally and a list of recommended venues can be found on our website under our ‘Directory of Suppliers’. Local hotels provide family rooms suitable for those with young children. These rooms are normally available at a special price for those attending a Manor Hill House wedding, so please contact the hotel directly to take advantage of the offer. Excellent self catering cottages are also available close by, again featured in our ‘Directory of Suppliers’.

If you would like to use one of our bedrooms purely for getting ready, a charge of 50% of the room hire fee will be applicable. This room will be available from 11am on the morning of the event and needs to be cleared by 6pm on the same evening.

Breakfast is normally served at 9.00 a.m. When we have another function that day, we request the Honeymoon en-suite and Bedroom 2 are cleared before breakfast to allow cleaning staff to service the rooms. We request that all guests depart Manor Hill House by 10am. If you would like a bit more time at the breakfast table, we can begin breakfast service any time from 8:30am.

If you wish to use any third-party supplier not featured on our Directory of Suppliers, you must obtain our consent in writing before you enter into any agreement or arrangement with the third-party supplier to supply goods or services at Manor Hill House. We require third-party suppliers to send us relevant insurance documentation and sign our third-party supplier policy. We reserve the right to refuse agreement to any such third-party supplier.

We prefer you to use one of our resident DJs as they have a vast knowledge of how events at Manor Hill House run and this creates a smooth and seamless experience for you and your guests. However, if you wish to provide your own DJ we will charge £250. The DJ will need to provide an insurance certificate and proof that their equipment is PAT tested. They will also be required to sign that they will adhere to our music policy during a meeting with one of the team. We require them to meet with us prior to the event to discuss set up, timing and noise limits.

You are very welcome to have non-amplified music such as a string quartet or harpist, and recorded music can be played through a built in sound system indoors by your nominated guest. For outdoor ceremonies a professional sound technician or DJ will be required if a live musician is not playing.

Live music can add greatly to an event and you are welcome to have a live band. We recommend that if the band is to play in the Summer Room the number of musicians is restricted to three. In the marquee the number of musicians can exceed this number. The band will need to provide an insurance certificate and proof that their equipment is PAT tested. The use of our recommended sound technician may be required. Drum kits should be ‘electronic’ and placed on an insulated mat to keep sound to a reasonable level. Please refer to our live music policy which the band will be required to sign.

Manor Hill House is not lisenced for any camping on site.

Catering is provided by Manor Hill House which offers a very extensive and flexible choice of menus which are designed to fit all tastes and budgets. Our chef will be pleased to meet you to discuss your requirements. A minimum catering spend of £74 per adult for whole day guests and £20 per adult for evening guests applies (both figures are inclusive of our facilities charge). The facilities charge covers the cost of staff for the day, hire of linen, cutlery, glassware and china.

We strongly recommend making your wedding speeches after your wedding breakfast as guests will more likely enjoy them on a full stomach and if your speeches overrun, the food can spoil.

A wedding cake or cup cakes may be brought in provided an ‘allergens sheet’ is completed by the supplier. Please note these cannot be used as a dessert for the main wedding breakfast meal.

We will be pleased to provide a decorated sweet cart inclusive of sweet jars, tongs and bags which will be fully serviced throughout the afternoon and evening at a cost of £50. Just bring us in your sweets and we will fill them. For an additional £2 per guest you can have the choice of 10 varieties of sweets chosen from our recommended list.

We will be pleased to provide a light finger buffet at £12 per head for you and your party (maximum of 10) while you are getting ready. N.B. This needs to be ordered in advance.

Yes, however we ask that they deliver your flowers already arranged and do not arrive at Manor Hill House before 11.00am on the wedding day. A time for any vases to be collected is to be agreed prior to delivery with the in house team.

You are welcome to use the house and the grounds for photographs during your hire period.

Yes. We charge corkage of £18 per bottle for wine, £22 per bottle of Prosecco or £28 per bottle of Champagne. Alternatively, we offer a very affordable in-house drinks package, which can be personalised to your requirements.

For alcoholic favours we require a corkage fee of £3 per 50ml serving.

We do not allow the consumption of any of your own drinks unless specifically agreed prior to the wedding day and this includes drinks given to you as gifts by guests and also bottles given to guests as gifts. These will be kept for safekeeping for collection by you the following day at 9:30am from the venue.

We welcome children at Manor Hill House but a nominated adult is requested to supervise them at all times. Where there are more than 10 children under the age of 10, there is a requirement to have a professional child care supervisor present. Due to food hygiene and health and safety concerns children may not be seated on the laps of guests during food service.

Please note that a child on a booster seat or in a high chair will count towards the maximum number of 10 per table. Children’s highchairs can be provided (we have 6 available for use).

A maximum of four children under the age of 12 are welcome to stay overnight at Manor Hill House in addition to the adults. Children are not permitted in the Honeymoon en-suite and need to be supervised by an adult in the other bedrooms. N.B. we do not have any family rooms so guests will need to bring in their own camp beds, cots and bedding for children.

We recommend that any children under the age of eight do not arrive until one hour prior to the ceremony allowing the bride and her bridal party to fully concentrate on getting ready in the morning.

We love animals and we are happy for the couple to have their pets at their wedding celebrations. We ask that a nominated guest is responsible for looking after any animals on site. We cannot allow pets to stay overnight. We recommend the use of pet services, please see our ‘Directory of Suppliers’ for contact details.

Manor Hill House is happy for lawn games to be brought in or they can be hired from our venue, please ask for more information.
For safety reasons all ball games need to be confined to the bottom paddock and supervised by a nominated adult to avoid any accidents or damage.

Yes. We have 3 easels you are welcome to use. Please ensure that your table plan is securely mounted and is the appropriate size and weight. We recommend that approximately A2 size is ideal.

You are welcome to have a long top table but be aware that it will take up the space of two round tables and can seat a maximum of 12.

Confetti throwing over the wedding couple always makes a splendid photograph. Only real flower petals, fresh or dried, are acceptable. These can be thrown on the lawn. We kindly request no confetti is thrown on the gravel as this needs clearing by hand causing difficulties for our team after the event. Bio-degradable confetti is not suitable. Manor Hill House are able to provide confetti, please ask one of the team for more information.

We cannot allow Chinese lanterns or helium balloons to be launched as the debris may impact on local residents and adjacent farmland. They may cause harm to livestock.
We love firework displays but request that they take place before 10pm. We are required by our District Council to give a minimum of four weeks notice to our neighbouring farmers, so they have an opportunity to move their livestock into fields not adjoining our premises. Our designated supplier is Jubilee Fireworks as listed under our ‘Directory of Suppliers.’
Candles can add lots of atmosphere but we do request, for safety, that the flame is encased in a heat resistant container. LED lights provide a good alternative.
We request that there are no party poppers, foil sprinkles or glass / plastic crystals as they can cause considerable damage to cleaning machinery and cause a delay in turnaround time.
Manor Hill House is able to offer a wide choice of chair sashes, including drops and bows, table runners and coloured linen, including napkins and table cloths. Please ask one our Wedding Co-ordinators for more information.
Our events team will be pleased to arrange a 2 hour time slot that suits you to deliver your finishing touches. When setting up please ensure that this is completed by 4pm, giving time for the team to carry out any updates to your paperwork and shut down the venue.
If we have an event the day before your wedding we can lay the tables up with your name settings, favours, menus etc but request they are given to us in table order – instructions are helpful. Once the tables are set up you are invited to come and view the set up on the morning of your wedding whilst you get ready at Manor Hill House. If you are preparing elsewhere, we are happy to send photographs so you can feel comfortable all is as you requested. If there is not an event the day before your event, we will invite you along to Manor Hill House where you will be able to put out your own finishing touches with the help of our events team.
You are welcome to bring items in to keep the children entertained, however we do not allow any felt tip pens or other items which may damage the property or the fixtures and linen. Crayons should be water based only.
In order to conform with our premises license and out of consideration for local residents, all guests not staying at Manor Hill House are requested to have vacated the premises by midnight. We suggest that taxis are booked for 11.45pm at the latest. The last dance finishes at 11.30pm when the bar also closes.
Cars may be left on site overnight but we ask that they are collected by 10:30am the day after the event. Sleeping in any vehicle on the Manor Hill House premises is not permitted and this includes campervans and caravans.
We request that all items are taken with you the morning following your wedding. Unfortunately, we are unable to keep any items following your wedding day as we have no spare storage capacity.
