Parish of Droitwich
The Droitwich Parish covers Church of England churches in Droitwich, Salwarpe, Hindlip and Martin Hussingtree.
Bookings for weddings in all four churches are handled through the Parish Office (01905 794952/ Saltwayteam@outlook.com), so getting in touch is the best next step. They can help you to discover which are your parish churches (those you have an automatic right to get married in) and we will do all we can to help to make your wedding day happy and memorable.
St Augustine, Droitwich (WR9 8QR)
9-minute drive from Manor Hill House
Work started on the Norman Church around 1180 AD and the building was completed around 1220AD.
However, during the Civil War, in 1646AD Parliamentarians were billeted in it, and in the Royalist attack the church was fired, and exploding armaments destroyed the nave and south transept, and damaged other parts of the church. In the early 18th century, the tower and south transept were rebuilt, using the masonry from the damaged building. The building retains this extremely unusual T-shape and positioning of the tower today.
Church facilities: toilets, car park, baby changing facilities, accessible entrance and toilet.
