We have a number of parishes, cared for by different priests and vicars, local to Manor Hill House that host charming rural churches.

Parish of Stoke Prior, Wychbold and Upton Warren

The Parish of Stoke Prior is cared for by The Rev’d Paula Honniball who is the part-time Associate Priest. The Parish has a selection of three churches: St Michael and All Angels- Stoke Prior, St Mary de Wyche and St Michael-Upton Warren.

This is a beautiful Grade 1-listed medieval church built in 1140, set in an ancient courtyard and surrounded by wildlife. The Church is located on Hanbury Road opposite the junction with Shaw Lane.

The tower was built c1200 with the spire was added later, and further to this a major Victorian restoration occurred in 1894-5. Recent repairs have included that of the tower, chancel roof and a glass entry for easier access to the church.

St Mary de Wyche is located at the junction of Church lane and Shaw Lane in Wychbold. It has a beautiful sandstone exterior with a large tower that contains six church bells, perfect for ringing out on your wedding day!

The Grade II* listed church was built between 1888-9, funded by the Amphlett family and John Corbett, an industrialist and the local Member of Parliament.

This church is about 1 mile from Manor Hill House, so it would just be a short drive after your ceremony to your reception!

Originally consecrated c1300, this grade 2 listed church was substantially rebuilt during the 1700s with oak panelling around the walls and a small balcony on the West wall. St Michael’s is nestled in the heart of Upton Warren countryside where its beauty and intimacy are perfect for smaller weddings.

The Bowbrook Group of Parishes

The Bowbrook Group of parishes is located in mid-Worcestershire in the heart of England. There are nine parishes within the group, centred on the villages of Feckenham, Hanbury, Oddingley, Tibberton, Crowle, Bredicot, Himbleton, Huddington and Bradley Green.

The nearest churches within the group of parishes are St John The Baptist, Feckenham and St Mary The Virgin, Hanbury.

St John The Baptist church is set in the beautiful parish of Feckenham. This church has some fine stained glass, an excellent ring of bells and three good organists.

St John The Baptist is an outgoing and supportive church that warmly welcomes visitors. Father Glenn Reading takes care of this church and can be contacted on 01527 894436.

Hanbury Church is a truly beautiful Grade I listed Anglican parish church set in the wonderful Worcestershire countryside. The church previously was the family church for the Vernon family of nearby Hanbury Hall.

The Worcestershire Severn Parishes

Elmbridge, Rushock, Elmley Lovett, Hampton Lovett, Doverdale and Hartlebury are a Benefice of Seven parishes, which is positioned within the Worcester Diocese of the Church of England.

The nearest churches within the group of parishes are St Mary – Elmbridge, St Michael – Elmley Lovett, St Mary and All Saints – Hampton Lovett and St Michael and All Angels – Rushock.

St Mary, Elmbridge

The church is a Grade II*-listed building, located in Elmbridge village. St Mary’s is an Anglican church that underwent Victorian reconstruction. Elmbridge was a chapelry
of Dodderhill until 1877, now it is a parish church.

St Michael, Elmley Lovett

The old stone parish church dates from 1200 and stands in the middle of a deserted medieval village.
It has four very tall lancet windows to each side of the nave and a modest bell tower topped by a tall stone spire.

St Mary’s and All Saints is a Grade-I listed building, chiefly medieval, although the nave, chancel, and both north and south doorways are Norman. There was at one time a medieval manor house to the east of the church which belonged to the Lovett family.

St Michael and All Angels, Rushock

The church is a Grade II-Listed building, built in 1758 on the site of a medieval church by Roger Eykyn of Wolverhampton. In 1872 it was then restored. The graveyard famously contains the grave of Rock Drummer John “Bonzo” Bonham and is a place of pilgrimage for Led Zeppelin fans.

Parish of Dodford with Grafton

Parish of Dodford with Grafton lies some three miles west of Bromsgrove and displays the essential characteristics of the Chartist village that came into existence in 1849. More than half of the properties were built before 1900 and a number of these are ‘listed’ buildings within a Conservation Area.

Holy Trinity and St. Mary, Dodford (B61 9DF)

The Holy Trinity and St. Mary, located in Priory Road, is the village Church of Dodford. The church was completed in 1908 and features woodwork and plasterwork in the Arts and Crafts style and stonework embellished by the Bromsgrove Guild.

Parish of Kidderminster East

The Parish of Kidderminster East is made up of 5 churches on the east side of Kidderminster, including St Cassian’s one of Manor Hill House’s local churches.

St Cassian’s Church, Chaddesley Corbett

St Cassian’s is a beautiful, Grade I-listed church in the heart of the village. It was built between the 11th and 14th Centuries with a Victorian interior.

The church has an original three-manual Elliot organ from 1817, a 12th-century font and some stunning examples of stained-glass windows. You will always find a warm welcome at St Cassian’s.

Parish of Droitwich

The Droitwich Parish covers Church of England churches in Droitwich, Salwarpe, Hindlip and Martin Hussingtree.

St Augustine, Droitwich (WR9 8QR)

Work started on the Norman Church around 1180 AD and the building was completed around 1220AD.

However, during the Civil War, in 1646AD Parliamentarians were billeted in it, and in the Royalist attack the church was fired, and exploding armaments destroyed the nave and south transept, and damaged other parts of the church. In the early 18th century, the tower and south transept were rebuilt, using the masonry from the damaged building. The building retains this extremely unusual T-shape and positioning of the tower today.

Parish of Bromsgrove

St. Godwalds Church, Bromsgrove

St. Godwalds Church is a Church of England Church located in Aston Fields Bromsgrove which was founded after 1883.

Godwald was an abbot-bishop in Brittany of great virtue and high birth. He had a monastery of clergy on an island called Locoal, and a retreat on a small island called Plec.
