Jade and Marcus’ Dreamy Spring Celebration

Jade and Marcus first crossed paths while studying performing arts in college — though it wasn’t love at first sight. “I thought he was big-headed and obnoxious,” Jade admits. But one night, after a tipsy trip to a Bromsgrove club, Marcus offered to carry Jade home. A few cheeky messages later, and what started as dislike turned into something much more meaningful.

Five years later, Marcus planned a magical proposal at Disneyland Paris, with the perfect Beauty and the Beast backdrop — a nod to their ongoing joke that Jade is Beauty, and he’s the Beast. After a slight hiccup in timing, Marcus ended up proposing under the castle on Jade’s birthday, surrounded by fireworks and Disney magic. She’d carried the ring in her backpack all day, completely unaware!

The Venue: A Real-Life “Father of the Bride” Moment

From the moment Jade and Marcus arrived at Manor Hill House, they knew they’d found the one. “I grew up obsessed with the film Father of the Bride,” Jade shared. “I always imagined a house wedding with a marquee on the lawn, and Manor Hill House gave me exactly that feeling.”

The team’s support, the beautiful countryside setting, and the house’s warm, welcoming atmosphere made it the perfect backdrop for their dream day.

Fashion Fit for a Fairytale

Jade’s stunning satin, off-shoulder ballgown came with a wonderful story — she won it through UK Bride’s annual competition! Paired with a chapel-length veil and family heirloom pearls, her timeless bridal look was both classic and deeply personal.

Marcus looked dapper in a black tuxedo with a suede jacket from Moss Bros, exuding sophistication with a modern twist.

The bridal party was as stylish as it was heartfelt:

• Bridesmaids wore one-shoulder chiffon gowns in soft sky blue.

• Maid of honour had a similar tone in a unique silhouette.

• Flower girls shone in white and sky-blue ball gowns laced with delicate pearls.

• Groomsmen, page boy, and father of the bride matched Marcus in classic black tuxedos.

In total, the wedding party included five adult bridesmaids, three flower girls, three best men, one page boy, and the proud maid of honour.

Spring Colours, Sweet Touches & a Feast to Remember

The couple embraced a springtime theme, mixing sky blue attire and chair covers with vibrant florals in pinks, oranges, and yellows for the bouquets and centrepieces. Their tables were dotted with mini egg favours in glass jars, continuing their fun seasonal theme — with custom stationery by Simply4you by Bronnie.

Their wedding menu was bursting with flavour and personality:

• Canapés: Mini Yorkshire puddings with beef and horseradish, samosas, sliders, and more.

• Wedding Breakfast: Hearty hunter’s chicken, skin-on fries, and corn on the cob, followed by comforting sticky toffee pudding with custard.

• Kids Menu: Smaller portions plus ice cream for dessert.

• Evening Food: Traditional fish & chips, mushy peas, and even pigs in blankets.

Instead of a traditional wedding cake, the couple delighted guests with a dessert bar full of stuffed cookies, brownies, and cupcakes by Becky’s Little Bakery — a perfect sweet treat for a relaxed, family-friendly vibe.

Fun, Fire & Forever Memories

The evening entertainment featured an in-house DJ who had everyone dancing, followed by a heart-warming roasting marshmallow station under the stars — a thoughtful, cosy way to end the evening.

When asked about their favourite part of the day, Jade and Marcus agreed: the meal and speeches. “It was the only time in the day that felt like it slowed down,” they said. “We could just sit, laugh, and soak in the joy with all our favourite people.”

The Honeymoon(s)

Why settle for one trip when you can have two? Jade and Marcus first escaped to a romantic countryside Airbnb in Warwickshire just two days after their wedding — a relaxing mini-moon perfect for unwinding. Later, they jetted off to Lanzarote with their children for a family honeymoon, where they celebrated their new life as The Smiths in sun-soaked style.
