Charlotte and John at Manor Hill House

On the 5th of March 2025, Charlotte (Lottie)  and John celebrated the start of their new chapter with an unforgettable wedding at Manor Hill House. With 80 of their closest friends and family in attendance, the day was filled with love, laughter, and a few surprise guests… including alpacas!

The Proposal Story

Charlotte and John’s love story began in a very modern way—on the social app Yellow, where they quickly bonded over a shared interest: Comic Con. After discovering they were both attending the same convention, the rest was history. Six years later, they were engaged and ready to plan the next big adventure: their wedding day.

Planning the Big Day

The couple planned their entire wedding in just six months, using Hitched to find trusted suppliers and stay organised. From start to finish, everything went smoothly—no last-minute hiccups, just a lot of excitement and love.

Choosing Manor Hill House

While driving back from Brighton, John spotted Manor Hill House, and something about the venue sparked a memory for Charlotte—it reminded her of her grandad’s yard, where she’d spent much of her childhood. It was a sentimental connection that sealed the deal. They knew it was the perfect place to say “I do.”

The Fashion

Charlotte and her bridal party looked stunning in dresses from JJ’s House, while John and his groomsmen looked sharp in suits from Suits Direct. The couple struck the perfect balance between elegance and personal style.

The Ceremony

Charlotte walked down the aisle to a special piece of music from her favourite game, Legend of Zelda—a fitting touch that made the moment truly personal. The couple exchanged heartfelt vows they had written themselves, a highlight that many guests found deeply moving.

The Theme

The colour scheme for the day was a rich mix of burgundy and navy blue, accented with touches of black. The blend was both romantic and elegant, complementing the venue beautifully.

Food & Festivities

Guests were treated to a delicious three-course meal, followed by an evening pizza oven and an array of sweets and savoury treats. Entertainment was nothing short of spectacular: a 360 photo booth, a traditional photo booth, a phone guest book, a talented illustrator, fireworks, and even alpacas from Wildwood Alpacas to charm the guests.

Unforgettable Moments

For Charlotte, one of the most emotional parts of the day was her father-daughter dance to Distant Drums, a song that held special meaning—it had been her grandparents’ favourite.

As for John and Charlotte, the highlight was, simply and sweetly, getting married.

The Honeymoon

After the wedding, the newlyweds jetted off to New York City for a week of sightseeing, dining, and soaking in the magic of the Big Apple.
