A Perfect Summer Wedding … Mr and Mrs Rawlins
Poppy & Owen’s wedding in August 2024 was a truly special day at Manor Hill House. Surrounded by family, friends, and stunning countryside views, they created a celebration that was as warm and genuine as the two of them. From their heartwarming ceremony to the stunning evening sparkler walkthrough, every detail made for an unforgettable day.
Their story began at a mutual friend’s birthday party, and after 4 and a half years together, they decided to tie the knot. They spent 22 months thoughtfully planning their wedding, and when they discovered Manor Hill House online, they knew it was their perfect setting.
They chose an elegant dusty blue as the central theme for their wedding, with Poppy’s five bridesmaids in one-shoulder dresses, tying seamlessly into the couple’s elegant, soft blue colour scheme, in addition to their table runners which dressed the marquee perfectly for their wedding breakfast.
Love & Laughter in the August Air
The August weather brought a touch of warmth and humidity, but it only added to the atmosphere of a quintessential summer wedding. Our spacious rooms and open garden areas provided plenty of space for guests to relax and enjoy the summer air. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, Poppy and Owen filled Manor Hill House with love and laughter. The atmosphere was light and joyfully romantic.
Our Pavilion set the perfect stage for Poppy’s favourite moment – walking down the aisle and soaking in the reactions of her loved ones, especially the way Owen’s face lit up as he saw her for the first time; not a dry eye in sight. Their theme incorporated touches of white florals and greenery that enhanced our venue’s natural beauty. The lush surroundings and natural countryside views created the ideal backdrop for a laid-back summer celebration, making every part of the day feel both elegant and effortless.
A Feast to Remember
Owen and Poppy wanted a meal that felt comforting and familiar, so they chose a menu that included stuffed potato skins, a hearty “Host with the Roast”, and chocolate brownies. The meal was a hit with their guests, bringing a festive and fun atmosphere to their wedding breakfast.
They added a personal touch to their reception decor with unique table numbers that gave guests a glimpse into their journey together. Each table number featured a picture of them both at that specific age, creating a nostalgic timeline through their lives before they met.
Dancing, Sparklers, and Sweet Memories
For evening entertainment, Owen and Poppy kept the guests dancing with DJ Chris Smith, and provided a photobooth courtesy of Fells Fun Booth, along side Manor Hill House’s sweet cart – giving the night a lively, interactive vibe.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the sparkler walkthrough – Owen’s personal favourite moment of the day. Seeing their family and friends, both day and evening guests, lining up with sparklers lit was a picture-perfect ending that captured the magic of their celebration. It was the perfect ending to an already unforgettable day.
