A Love Story That Started on Instagram 

Alisha and Joseph’s love story began when they first connected through mutual friends and started chatting on Instagram. Their first date, a sweet and simple walk in their local park, marked the start of something truly special. After five years of love and laughter, Joseph popped the question, and the couple spent almost two years carefully planning their dream wedding. 

The couple chose Manor Hill House as their wedding venue, and for good reason. “It was the first and only venue we visited,” Alisha shares. “As soon as we arrived, we felt instantly comfortable and welcomed. The Style: Timeless Elegance with a touch of Olive Green

Taking inspiration from timeless weddings, Alisha and Joseph incorporated a soft, romantic color palette of olive green with touches of greenery throughout their décor. 

• The Bride: Alisha wore a stunning Hilary Morgan gown from Your Wedding Shop in Birmingham. Her dress was elegant, romantic, and timeless—everything she envisioned for her special day. 

• The Groom: Joseph looked dapper in a classic tuxedo suit from DJ Formal Wear, complete with a black bow tie, white pocket square, and a pocket watch that added a charming vintage touch. 

• The Bridal Party: The four bridesmaids wore beautiful mix-and-match olive green chiffon dresses from Azazie. The groomsmen complemented the look with matching tuxedos and olive green bow ties. 

The ceremony was beautifully accompanied by a string quartet, which played some of the couple’s favorite songs, including Yellow by Coldplay, Here Comes the Sun by The Beatles, and Stand by Me by Ben E. King. 

Two heartfelt readings—one by the bride’s mother and another by the groom’s sister—added a deeply personal touch to the proceedings, making it a moment the couple will treasure forever. 

The Feast: Delicious, Thoughtful Food 

Following the ceremony, guests were treated to an array of carefully chosen dishes: 

• Canapés: Mini fish and chips, mini burgers, chicken skewers, and spinach and ricotta filo parcels. 

• Wedding Breakfast: A mouth-watering main of crispy pork belly with dauphinoise potatoes, Tenderstem broccoli, carrots, gravy, and caramelized apples. For dessert, guests enjoyed a trio of indulgent treats: chocolate brownie, Biscoff cheesecake, and lemon posset. 

• Evening Food: Guests rounded off the day with wood-fired pizzas, including margarita, meat feast, and caramelized red onion. 

Instead of traditional favors, the couple made meaningful charity donations to Macmillan Cancer, Dogs Trust, and Make-A-Wish Foundation, providing charity pins for guests. “Our guests loved this thoughtful alternative,” Alisha said. 

The Evening Celebrations: Dancing and Memories 

As the sun set, the evening came alive with a DJ (Midlands Wedding DJ, John Horton) and a photobooth (Fells Fun Booth), where guests created fun memories to take home.

The Honeymoon: Relaxing in Rhodes, Greece

The day after their wedding, Alisha and Joseph jetted off to Rhodes, Greece, where they spent a blissful week sunbathing, relaxing, and reflecting on their beautiful wedding while enjoying a private sea-view pool.

A Few Final Thoughts

Planning their wedding wasn’t always easy. “We’re both quite indecisive, and the number of decisions felt overwhelming at times,” Alisha admits. But by staying organised with tools like Joy for RSVPs and combining planning resources into a custom Canva document, they managed to create a day that was truly their own.
