“If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you.” – Winnie The Pooh
1. Candid Photography
Instead of traditional wedding photography where the couple and guests sit and pose for the camera, candid photography is becoming favourited.
Candid photography tells the story of the wedding day through imagery. It captures all the details, emotions and natural moments!
Another fun addition to your professional photographs could be disposable images. Pop a disposable camera on each table and let your guests capture all the special moments for you. They are easy to use, inexpensive and a bit of fun for your guests! They make a lovely favour for your dining set up too. You can get them developed at many high street shops for a small fee- then enjoy the surprises that follow!
2. Outdoor Ceremonies
Outdoor weddings became popular in 2020 and 2021 due to safety reasons and since then more and more couples are choosing outside weddings. They allow you to incorporate natural scenes into the wedding decor, bringing the whole reception to life.
Being an exclusive-use wedding venue we can accommodate both indoor and outdoor weddings. Our beautiful outdoor pavilion is one of the highlights of Manor Hill House and is situated on our perfectly kept lawn. Your guests can enjoy the stunning countryside and sunshine as you say your vows in this intimate and unique space. You are welcome to decorate the pavilion to suit your wedding theme; for example flowers, fairy lights or bunting. If you are looking for something a little more rustic, our barn area is the perfect setting for your ceremony.
3. Groomsmaids & Man of Honour
Couples are moving towards having wedding parties that reflect their actual friendship group instead of gender-specific groups.
When picking a Maid/Man of honour think about your closest relationship, who will be best equipped to handle your needs and will always be supportive. Whether that is a sibling or childhood best friend, their gender is irrelevant.
4. Mismatched Bridesmaids Dresses
Finding matching bridesmaid dresses that all your bridesmaids feel great in can be hard, especially if all your bridesmaids are all different shapes and sizes. Mismatched bridesmaid dresses allow you to highlight each individual style and ensure each bridesmaid is wearing a dress that makes her feel her absolute best! You can have fun experimenting with colours, fabrics and hemlines.
5. Late-Night Food
A more relaxed style of eating will continue to trend in 2023. Late-night food is also becoming increasingly popular. To keep your party fueled, late-night food is definitely a must! At Manor Hill House the options are endless, from a Hog Roast to Wood Fire Pizzas.
Take a look at our food options here. Our options range from the choice of delicious canapés, an elegant sit-down meal, an afternoon tea, a rustic BBQ and much more.
6. Fruit Wedding Cake
In 2023, fruit wedding cakes are set to be huge, but not the traditional English fruit cake as you know it. Couples are choosing something different and incorporating fruit flavours within their cakes. Using fruit to decorate your cake is also a nice idea, for example, mixture of raspberries, blackberries, strawberries and blueberries
Combination ideas: Raspberry and white chocolate; Lemon and Elderflower; Strawberries and cream; Cherry and almond; Vanilla and Blackcurrant jam
7. Wedding Dress Rental “Something Borrowed”
Wedding dress rental has become more popular than ever before and is set to become even more sought-after in 2023!
For many brides, their wedding dresses never leave their wardrobes after the big day, so renting a dress for the day is a more sustainable solution.
Another benefit to renting a dress is the price; it allows you to save money while still wearing an expensive dress down the aisle. Also, it gives you an opportunity to wear a dress that perhaps would have been out of your budget if you bought it.
8. Ceremony Backdrop
Recently couples have become more creative with their ceremony backdrops. We have noticed in the last few years, flower walls, greenery wreaths and floral arches have become very popular choices! It means you can experiment with different flowers and colours depending on your wedding theme.
Our exclusive-use wedding venue allows you to be as creative as you like as well as offering a number of finishing touches for your big day! Make use of our flower wall in the marquee or enjoy the scenic views of the fields surrounding our property if you decide to say your vows out on the lawn!
